STACIE DOMAN BENNETT

Professional Biography

Stacie Doman Bennett began her career in the Aerospace industry, and transitioned into Geospatial Science after earning degrees in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, and Information Systems. She has over 20 years of professional experience with a specialized interest in federal data curation and dissemination.

Within the Cybersecurity and Networking communities, Stacie ensures the rigorous application of information security/cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of all IT services. This includes the implementation, operationalization and continuous management of Governance & Risk Compliance, Identity and Access Management, Risk & Vulnerability Management, and Zero-Trust tools and platforms.

Within the geospatial community, Stacie became proficient with ArcGIS applications, ERDAS IMAGINE, SAS, MatLab, ENVI/IDL, GDAL, Python/C++/Java/R/Perl, Unix/Linux/Windows/Mac, Apache Tomcat & Hadoop, JSON/SPARKL/Groovy/XML/SOAP, various SQLs, OPeNDAP, and Xymon. She then transferred these skills into a science career with a primary focus on modern technologies and solutions.

Within the computational bioinformatic community, Stacie discovered how to process and store genetic data at petabyte levels. She gained experience with cloud technologies anD architectures, specifically using Amazon Web Services such as Migration Services, RDS, Key Management Services, AWS HIPPA security compliance, CloudFront, Lambda, EC2, RedShift, S3, and Glacier. Stacie transferred large genomic public data into structured data frames within an Apache Spark framework for optimized processing. She also developed and fostered relationships with third-party vendors for tailored genomic runtime environments.

As a scientist and researcher, Stacie creates transparent relationships with all stakeholders. Most recently she was integrated into strategic leadership opportunities teaching her the true value of technology, and how to successfully translate methods and processes into documented standards of practice. She incorporates Agile and Lean methodologies to all processes, and prefers the Atlassian suite of products, including JIRA, Confluence, Trello/Kanban and Bitbucket.

Stacie is extremely motivated to incorporate scientific processes, and to successfully communicate the fundamental technology information exchange for all solutions. She leverages business performance through Project Management Institute techniques and standards to encourage competent workforces, alongside sincere and proper management of people, processes, and science.

Stacie strives to connect individuals and communities to business and technology through a deep understanding for how systems function, how processes can be improved, and what insights can lead to revelations and growth. Stacie devotes her energy for one overarching yet simple vision – improving our planet.
